To ensure that we stay relevant and continue to serve the Rwandan girl child in the way she needs, we held a General Assembly on June 18th, 2023. A critical yearly event for reviewing achievements, addressing challenges, discussing the organization’s operational issues, and increasing member engagement to bolster women’s and girls’ education. The event provided a platform for members to offer feedback and review their contributions to the project’s objectives, fostering a cohesive and interactive environment.

The General Assembly had several key objectives this year :

 1. To examine and approve the organization’s action plan and budget for 2023.
 2. To approve the new Strategic Plan (2023-2027).
 3. To vet and accept new member applications for FAWE Rwanda.
 4. To approve the previous General Assembly Minutes with Resolutions from 2022.

With a focus on identifying best practices, learning lessons for future improvement, and acknowledging and integrating members’ contributions. To address program implementation challenges, propose solutions, and recommend ways to strengthen the FAWE network.

This year’s assembly was an intimate gathering, with about 70 participants as per the received confirmations. The participants included representatives from various stakeholders, reflecting the diversity and dynamism of FAWE Rwanda.

The 2023 General Assembly stands as a testament to FAWE Rwanda’s commitment to fostering dialogue, promoting girls’ education, and striving for gender equality. It represented another step forward in implementing gender-responsive policies and empowering girls through educational opportunities. The newly approved Strategic Plan (2023-2027) will surely guide the organization toward achieving these objectives in the coming years.
