On Wednesday, 22nd December 2021 FAWE Rwanda held the stakeholders ‘annual Review and planning Meeting alongside the graduation of 42 Alumnae who graduated from the University of Rwanda in the 2019-2020 Academic Year.
During the meeting, stakeholders discussed the achievements of a 10 year MasterCard Foundation Scholars’ program that enabled FAWE Rwanda to provide a comprehensive scholarship package to 1,200 girls throughout upper secondary, and the majority of these were enrolled in tertiary education at the University of Rwanda and INES Ruhengeri.
The meeting was also an opportunity to present challenges faced in the year 2021 and propose a way forward.
After the meeting, a graduation ceremony for 42 scholars, now FAWE/MCF Alumnae was held under the theme “Building a generation of transformative leaders”
The event concluded with awards for the best students and cutting a cake in honor of their achievements. It was a moment of joy that included a lunch for all the participants including the parents of the children who graduated from the MasterCard Foundation and FAWE Rwanda Scholars Program.
